table 2.0

I don't think it's been lost on any of you that my family is a group of do-ers. There's never a lot of sitting going on and last weekend was no exception.

My mom has excellent taste and can visualize what any room needs (seriously). Within hours of arriving at my house, she'd taken one look at our chairless table and figured out exactly what kind it needed.
From there she took on the coffee table - turning it from greyish-brown to green in no time.
Muff efficiency at its finest: pouring the paint onto the table.
Duke, providing moral support.
Tada!

It's officially the unofficial start to summer and I couldn't be happier. This weekend marks the beginning of long days at the lake, hot nights on the dock, lightning bugs, ice cream, sun-kissed, carefree blissfulness.

My heart is full and my bags are packed because we're heading to the beach. See you in the summer!

we've gone greek

If you haven't seen the new Ben and Jerry's Greek yogurt line, let me enlighten you. How amazing does it look? Combining two of my favorite staples (froyo + greekyo) into one (= frogreekyo), it seems truly magical.

Court and I were dying to try it Sunday, but didn't have any on hand and the babies were asleep. Never ones to let convenience come between us and our ice cream, we got to crafting our own.

We blended Greek yogurt, natural peanut butter, cocoa powder, bananas and a touch of brown sugar and froze over night. Oh my stars. How have we never thought to put this in the freezer before?

My friends. Run. Don't walk. To your nearest grocery store so you can get to blending. You'll thank me tomorrow night.

Would you even believe me if I said I had yet another round of family visiting this weekend? Luckiest girl in the world!

Ryan had a conference in Atlanta, so Court&Co. came with him. And once word got out that I'd have three Smith kiddos at my house, the guests started pouring in. Ash and Diego flew in from Denver, my mama came from Indy and Duke drove up from Statesboro. We were desperately missing my dad and Sam, but other than that, the weekend was pretty stellar.

It was a flurry of activity, the majority of which was spent outside - we walked all over Midtown and the Highlands, posted up at the W's pool, got carry out for dinner, fed the ducks (&turtles and fish) in Piedmont Park, discovered new playgrounds and just loved on each other.

As usual, the weekend was too short and so sweet. I just love them! Come back to me soon, guys!

PS: I took almost no photos except one at the pool and one of Duke hula hooping. A gem!
