this life is pretty amazing

Last year I was very scared to turn 25.

It sounded so old and big and like I was supposed to know things and have stuff figured out.

But 26. Whewee.

26 is a lot less scary.

Sure, it is closer to 30 than 20, but it's still pretty far away from it. And also, 25 turned out to be pretty amazing, and I didn't experience any sort of memory loss or effects of aging as I feared I would just one year ago.

I'm not one of those people who tells college kids: these are the best days of your life. You better enjoy it now because it's all over after this.

Yes. College was amazing and fun.

But every year it seems like life just keeps getting happier, and I think: welp. There's no way next year will be able to top this one! Of course each year has its own trials and tribulations, but I just feel so lucky to be living and learning with such amazing people by my side (both literally and across America) as they unfold.

So on the eve of the start of my 26th year of life, I am not scared, but excited. I can't wait to see what this year brings!

PS: For my birthday I just have one tiny request for all of the people I previously mentioned that are far away make a quick trip to Atlanta, so you can all literally be by my side. Not so much to ask, right?

friday find

I recently stumbled on Thought Questions and am hooked. A big question asker myself, I'm wondering if I can somehow incorporate these into my life outside the blogosphere.

Here are my favorites...

Week at the beach with my family!

The amazing people in it, and the opportunity to live in such a great city.

Sometimes it's better to say less, but make what you say really count.
Oh, and patience is a virtue. But I'm still working that one.

Happy Friday!

meet me in the garden

Last Tuesday, I blogged about juicing. On Tuesday night, Katie Gold told me about Arden's Garden.

By this Monday, I had been there five times.

Um.

I lived approximately one block from that place for seven months and never saw it. Why didn't anyone tell me!?

I.am.obsessed.

The juice. The smoothies. The granolas.

My life has forever changed.

On Monday, Gold and I did the Grand Slam, which comprises four shots, including wheat grass, ginger, lemon and cranberry. The ginger was a struggle, but I was pleasantly surprised by my feelings toward wheat grass. I thought it would bother me more. Supposedly, if you do the combination  consistently, it will clease your body, and eventually give you more energy than coffee.

I can't speak to that yet, but I can confirm that I've been dreaming of the spinach smoothie all day, and have found a solid solution to my kale woes.

If anyone wants to find me over the next few weeks, you know where to look. See you ITG (in the garden. Clearly...)

well hey wednesday

Dear weekend,

I'm not sure where you went, but you took Monday and Tuesday with you. You've left me in a state of shock - my mind still positive it should only be Saturday. And yet, you packed enough activities to span multiple weekends: the Toby Keith concert, moving day, a wedding, Muff visiting - and of course tackling every inch of our new house with vigor.

Thanks for being a really, really great two-day experience masquerading as a week long fest.

I can't wait to do it again in just two days.

Until then,
Whitney
