lust list: honey do's

Last week my mom tried to shock us all with recently acquired trivia.  She thought she'd come up with a real stumper when she asked us, "Do you know what food never expires?"

We all answered (in unison) "Honey". To which she was incredibly disappointed.

Regardless, I thought her trivia came at the perfect time, as September is National Honey Month

To celebrate, some lust worthy honey-colored do's:

The Matine Toile Duvet Cover from Pottery Barn.  Isn't it lovely?
The Globe-Trotter Centenary suitcase from J.Crew.  Though I must admit that if my honey were this shade, I might be alarmed...
The TokyoMilk Wrapped Soap from Anthropologie. I'm a sucker for anything French, and it's sweetened with honey.

lust list: ballerina style

Last week, Duke got frustrated with me because I told him that if I could master any sport, it would be ballet.

He said, "What about Quidditch?"
To which I said, "Well, I'd just really like to be better at dancing and to be more graceful."

He looked at me like I was completely insane.  Later, when Harry Potter happened to be on TV and the Quidditch game came on, he looked at me and said, "Whit, how could you not want to play that!?"

After watching it, I decided he might be right, it would be pretty amazing to be able to fly. And I think the amount of balance the broomstick requires would inevitably make me slightly more graceful.

Since I don't attend Hogwarts and I am simply a Muggle, Quidditch will never be an option.  And, since I'm five days shy of 24, I am afraid it might be a little late for ballet as well.

But, who says I can't still dress the part? I adore the Dream Pink Lacy Tiered skirt from Ruche. It's very tutu-chic. I am confident I would feel at least slightly more graceful in it.

lust list: practically impractical

Although I began debating what color Hunter wellies to buy in February and was coming close to a decision by March, I never ended up purchasing them.

I didn't feel right about it since I don't live in a walking city.  I made a deal with myself that if I move to Chicago or New York, or another walking city, I could buy them.  I also decided that in the unlikely event that I move to Seattle, I can buy multiple pairs.

But, here I am, in a driving city, with my black rain boots packed away, deep in my closet.

Thus, Hunter's are simply lust-worthy, but not yet worth buying...
PS: I have to add that I became less enamored by them when Emily told me the sock inserts don't stay put. That's half the appeal!

One more thing - if you're looking for an alternative to Hunter's (not that I need another type of rain boots to adore), check out Loeffler Randall's new rain boots and rain booties. They look uncannily similar to my dad's green hunting boots, but I kind of like them...

lust list: going green

Though I'm not the hippie Courtney is, I've been feeling increasingly eco-friendly lately.

And although I'm not quite ready to convert the kitchen to paperless (I love Bounty), I am ready to ban those plastic baggies.

Court suggested LunchBots and while I'm pretty confident cuter ones are bound to surface soon, I'm lusting after these little containers. I like the "Uno" because it would fit my lunch-lifestyle best. And of course, I love yellow.
I also like the Short Hot-Cold Food Containers from Pottery Barn Kids. In only one size and solely boy/girl colors, they're not quite as progressive as LunchBots, but I must admit that anything from Pottery Barn tends to suck me in.
