whimsical wednesdays {working girl}

We've had quite a bit of shifting around at work, and with these changes has come a constantly busy schedule.  And although I haven't lacked initiative, I am a strong believer in incentives.  I also firmly believe that the fastest way to stimulate productivity is to create a change.

So, if I were redecorating and restocking my office, here is where I'd indulge...

I'm a complete sucker for sticky notes, and while I'm typically loyal to Post-its, I've fallen for Kate Spade's version.  The selling point was the middle note - the built in list.  As a devoted list maker, the printed numbers are irresistible.
The Daily System from Pottery Barn.  I currently have just one dry erase calendar that I've had since high school. I love it - it's gone from home to college back home and finally to my office, but it's starting to look a little tired. It soon might pass for a grey board.
The Life.doc: Your Life Buttoned Up organizer from Amazon. Even though everything is electronic these days, I like to keep it retro with planners and paper copies (not so green of me, I know).  The binder format makes it easy to add and remove things, while still keeping the order I love.  There is space for medical organization, budgeting, insurance information, etc.  It's a Type-A dream.
The Alphacritter mousepad from Anthropologie.  They had me at the monogram.
These "I am Organized" file folders from Crane & Co. They're a cute twist on my standard manilla ones. I think, therefore, I am, right?

lululove

As much as I love dressing up, my true weakness is comfortable clothing.  I am such a sucker for soft sweatshirts, casual pants, and workout gear.

My greatest weakness is lululemon. I love everything about the company - the products, the advertising, the free yoga classes it sponsors.

Right now I'm dreaming of the Gather & Crow Crops.
I had the (mis?)fortune of discovering a local store that carries them, and ever since I had the (again, mis?)fortune of feeling how soft they are, I cannot stop thinking about them.

While I've been busy dreaming about them, Heidi Klum got busy designing an amazing workout line for New Balance.  Check out the details on my post for the Examiner.

Won't you join me?

In celebrating the start of a beautiful month of October. It's seventy one degrees, the sun is shining, and it's Friday!

I'm headed to Atlanta tomorrow and planning on attending my very first Oktoberfest.  I almost can't think of a better way to kick-start the month.

And while I am, of course, looking forward to the festivities and planning to accomplish a number of my fall goals, this summer-like weather has me craving ice cream.  All day I've been lusting after these Coolhaus ice cream sandwiches.
And, as if the world of ice cream couldn't be more perfect, I just learned today that Ben & Jerry's is currently working to develop anti-aging ice cream.

Isn't it a wonderful Friday?!

puppies!

My dad always jokes that among his kids, there is never a shortage of opinions.  Between the five of us, we never have trouble cultivating and expressing our thoughts - from Sam's blanket statements to my passion for Gmail, we are typically ready to share.

One opinion that I denied for many years is that I'm not really an animal person.  Recently, though, I have found myself very drawn to puppies.  I just can't stop thinking about how cute they are...
It's one of the odder feelings I've experienced to date.

Other opinions I maintain are: I don't like crew necks. I don't wear collars. And I am not one for pants. However, I recently began to question all three of these opinions as well.

I have been wearing my Jackie shell like a uniform.
I purchased a check boy shirt and cannot wait to wear it.
And last weekend I could not get enough of my jeans...
All three of these items are a move away from my normally girly style (ruffles and bows) to a slightly more utilitarian look.

They say your taste buds change every seven years, but I'm beginning to think they overlooked something.  Maybe my opinions are just changing as I continue in this new phase of my life.  Or maybe puppies are just getting cuter...
