let it shine

Today is the Chinese Lantern Festival, which marks the last day of their New Year celebration. It is also a day celebrated for love.

While we don’t celebrate it in the US, I recently fell in love with these lanterns, and figured it was an appropriate time to post them. They’re vintage submarine bulkhead lamps and I think they’d be pretty fabulous in the right home.

Consider this another reason to celebrate.

I fell madly in love with Emma the first time I read it (and even more deeply so when I realized Clueless was based off of it).

Later in life, I also fell in love with Kate Spade.

How convenient that Kate and Emma's powers have been combined with the new book clutches.

I'm not holding my breath for the Clueless version just yet...

put a little love in your heart

It's no secret that I love all holidays. I'm sold on any excuse for an extra celebration.

However, I know that while my V'day flag flies high, it often flies solo (the same goes for New Year's...). Regardless of my singlesness/coupleyness, I've always loved this love filled day.

Last week in yoga, the instructor kept urging us to ignore the commercialism of Valentine's Day and embrace what it stands for - a celebration of love. I thought this was the perfect way to think of the holiday.
