the moment we've (all?) been waiting for

If you know me, you know I'm pretty much the worst TV watcher ever. I never know when the shows I like are on, I am horrible at keeping up with them, and I've been known to ask if the shows I like are still on the air (did Las Vegas end?).

I counted down to the making of the Kennedy series and was really sad when I found out it had been canceled. And, like the tele-bungler I am, was completely shocked when I found out it ended up being released. I discovered it on my Netflix stream Sunday night, and after an action-packed weekend with very little sleep, it was just what I needed.

I can't get enough of it - from the clothing (!) to the intimate details of the family - I am beyond hooked. Katie Holmes' accent is a little lame, but I don't even care. I finally feel like all the books I've read are coming alive before my eyes. Is this what people felt like when the Harry Potter movies came out?

I have a very good feeling I might actually get through all eight episodes. At least, I think there are eight episodes...

Shoot the Hooch

I know I've pretty much been crying wolf on the whole warm weather thing since January, but now summer really is here. (How sick of hearing me talk about it are you?)

One of my favorite summertime activities is Shooting the Hooch. Almost nothing is more wonderful to me than floating down the Chattahoochee river, cocktail in hand. I didn't have the chance to do it last summer, so I was long overdue. My only complaint was that we didn't float far enough - I could have stayed out there until Monday.

Not to worry, though, I already have plans to get back out there soon.

I hope you all had sunshine filled weekends!

king of pops

Since moving to Atlanta, I have officially fallen in love with the King of Pops popsicles. And as the days have gotten hotter, my cravings for them have increased exponentially.

On Monday, after a crazy hard workout class, my friends Casey and Stephanie and I decided it was time to make our own popsicles, as we'd recently discovered his Banana Pudding recipe, and had clearly earned our dessert.

They were pretty much completely amazing, and I strongly recommend making them yourself. While I'll be the first the admit that ours were a far cry from his, I'd like to think it must have to do with the old theory that it tastes better when someone else makes them for you...
