run baby run

You guuuuys. I'm so happy. Last night I got to go on a walk for the first time since getting injured. And next week, I get to start running.

I could not be happier.

I don't think I've been this happy since I finished the Chicago Marathon. And on some level, not running was almost as challenging as that was.

Last night I had to break in my new orthotics, which required being on my feet for two hours. This created an incredible contrast to five weeks ago when my physical therapist told me to stay off my feet for at least three hours. When she tasked me with going for a long walk, I almost hugged her.

If you saw some girl driving down Peachtree, bumping to Gaga last night with a huge smile, it was me.

I'll be sure to report back on the first run next week.

112 hours.

I promise it's love.

So I decided yesterday's post was a little misleading, based on the amount of people that asked me: why don't you like fall?

It's not that I don't like fall. In fact, I actually love it. It offers some of my favorite things: tailgates, pumpkins, Halloween/haunted houses/candy corn, great date opportunities, crisp beautiful weather, great clothes (boots! layers!), festivals, Hocus Pocus watching...

It's kind of amazing.

However, what I don't like about it is that it means summer is over. I realize fall shouldn't be blamed for this, but it's hard not to associate the end of one season with the beginning of the other.

But I guess I'll try to work on this, because fall doesn't deserve to get a bad reputation in my head.

So, for all of you who were worried that I was some sort of fall-hating crazy, I assure you, I'm a lover of the season.

And after an amazing UGA southern-style tailgate this weekend, my love for it has grown even more...

Happy Wednesday :)

falling

For one little baby second I got really excited for fall today. It was weird. I'm not sure what it means. Am I becoming more open-minded? Or is this girl just that cutie?

The times are changing, my friends.

(Don't worry. I still love summer the most.)

birthday in review. di di!

Other than having decent handwriting, I pretty much have zero artistic talent (see the tree I painted. in college). This includes no eye for photography, though I tried that in high school. And I sometimes think about buying a camera just so I can get this cute strap. But those qualities haven't led to an artistic breakthrough.

However, I do have enough awareness to realize just how great the pictures from my birthday weekend are. They make me feel pretty obsessed with my friends. I'll let them do most of the talking...

Shared birthday :)

Like only Meggie can do, she bought us monogrammed toilet paper.

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday perfect :) A special shout out to Allie for surprising us. You're all amazing.

And although the photos don't say it, thank you to my perfect family too. My birthday couldn't have been any better, all because of youskies.

Also. I promise we actually made it to the bars. Somehow we just didn't manage to take pictures there.
