two to go!

Rentry! Whoah! Back to life after a week of beach bliss (pictures tomorrow).

Reality hit this morning, not only in my email inbox (!), but also when I realized there are only two months until my triathalon. Eeep! Time to lock it down on training and fundraising.

So far, you've helped me raise enough money to provide 16 people with clean drinking water. I can't thank you enough. I've felt so supported both financially, and by people sharing the link. I once heard that the feeling you get when you're mentioned on Facebook and Twitter is equivalent to a warm, fuzzy. Quadruple that feeling - and that's how I've felt anytime someone has donated and/or shared my link. It makes me all buzzy and puts pep in my step.

Without being obnoxious, I'd like to ask that you continue to support me throughout the next two months. Again, if you can't provide financially, please feel free to pass on my link to those who can. Thank you again - I truly appreciate it!

bye, bye: HHI!

I'm about one hot second (aka one work day) away from a trip to Hilton Head with the whole Biberian clan.

Could I be any more excited? Uh-humm no. Am I counting down every.last.minute? Yessir (480 to be exact). Will I return refreshed, family-filled and with a happy heart? You better believe it.

Until next week, buddies!

PS: While I'm gone, the bestest surprise evaaa would be if you'd donate to my well. Thank you in advance!

green smoothies

OK. Maybe this is just me.

I hope it's not just me.

But here's the deal.

Do you ever have those times where you've been doing something for-ev-er, and then it gets really cool? And you're like: wait. I've known about that for a bajillion years. And then you try to say that, but you end up looking like a know it all.

This is how I feel about green smoothies. They're everywhere nowadays and I feel like they're old school to me.

And I was getting all up-in-ma-head about this and then it hit me that I actually stole them from Courtney. And if I've been green smoothing for a bajillion years, she has been doing it for two bajillion years.

And this was a reality check for me: yes. I have been drinking them since before they were cool. And Courtney was rocking them even before that. And guess what? Neither of us invented them. Nor did we discover them. So I should just chill out (with a smoothie in hand) and let the world enjoy the goodness that they offer. Especially because they're the sneakiest way ever to get more spinach in your diet. Which is great for everyone, especially - you know - spinach farmers.

And in the spirit of true smoothie loving, I thought I'd offer up my favorite new recipe:

1 apple
Spinach (duh)
Peanut Butter
Cinnamon
Flax
Almond Milk

Blend over ice.
OK. That's all for today. :)

challin on the weekend

Sandwiched between weekends of travel, fests and guests, last weekend was the perfect stay-in-Atl-a-thon.

For the first time in a long time, on Saturday afternoon, I thought to myself: what should I do with these extra hours before I get ready for the evening?

I started the week with all of my orders in affair, a little bit of extra sleep, and pep in my step. Isn't it amazing what a few days like this can do for the week ahead? No humps to get over this Wednesday!
