one for one

It's no secret that my large family has a small obsession with Toms. Between my parents + siblings + spouses + kids, I think we have 13 pairs in action.

And I might be a little bit of a groupie, because tonight I am going to hear the brand's founder, Blake Mycoskie, speak. I'm so (^infinity) excited! The question is: do I wear my Toms? Or is that overkill? You know, like the people that wear the marathon t-shirt they received in the pre-race package during the race?

The subject is, "Start Something That Matters: Transform Yourself and the World Around You." What I'm also wondering is, does that leave room for me to ask why he named it Toms and not Blakes?

If you're trying to share in my excitement, check out this video below. It definitely got me primed for the session.

PS: OK, OK. I lied. I know why it's called Toms (I'd be a bad groupie if I didn't). It started as the Shoes for Tomorrow Project, eventually shortened to Shoes for Tomorrow. But then that wouldn't fit on the label, so they shortened it to Toms. Buy a pair today and they'll give a pair tomorrow.

Super cute. Super perfect.

I just love everything about the company, I think.

Yaay!

peak season eatin

Last week, a lot of people had questions about the CSA. And while I couldn't answer most of them (soon, I hope!), I did recently find this Peak-Season Map.

Since last fall, I have been trying to eat only in-season fruits and veggies, which hasn't been too hard, minus the apples. Always.want.apples.

This map allows you to pick your state + month and then generates peak fruits and veggies. Summer ones seemed pretty obvious, but I had no idea Brussels sprouts were in season in December. Cha-ching!

treats&tuesday

I really try hard not to say that I don't like certain days of the week, because the thought of not liking 1/7 of life seems a little depressing.

But, if were held at gunpoint and *had* to identify my least favorite day of the week, I guess I would pick Tuesday. Mondays are exciting, because you get to see your work friends and you're refreshed from the weekend. And Wednesdays are great because (1) it's my favorite yoga class and (2) you're already touching Thursday. And Thursday and Friday, I need not explain. But Tuesday! The weekend seems so far, and yet it also feels so far from the last one we just lived.

So, even though I may never admit it again, I guess I don't love Tuesdays.

Let's spice things up with some Tuesday treats, shall we?...

I love AP Style (almost as much as Leslie) and am not one to question Merriam or Webster, but the Gadabout tumblr is a whole new level of yes. Redefining a new word daily, including Gingham (a note off plaid) and dazed (to be dreamily awake), I'm hooked on its new outlook. I'd love to hear what it has to say about Tuesday.
And while you're digging into the definitions, indulge in some frozen peanut butter pops. Nothing jazzes up mid-week blahs like frozen PB, yaknow?
And, just in case that's not enough to put the sparkles back into your week, check out these glitter magnets. They're perfect for hanging some inspiration on your fridge.

Weekend Magic

Even though I love (love, love, love) both having visitors and traveling on the weekends, there is something magical about being in Atlanta with no plans. These weekends are few and far between, and you never know where they'll take you.

This weekend took me all around Atlanta with friendsies, including to Souper Jenny (dream), the pool and a teensy bit of accidental shopping. Whoops!

The only tricky things about these weekends is that they go by way too quickly, nahmean?

Ah well - Just three days separating us from Friday (not counting today). Too soon? Never.

I hope your weekend was greatgreat!

PS: Know who I haven't talk about in a while? These guys. So on-trend with their photo boothing.
